Birthday Party Etiquette for Adults

Kids are wonderful, special creatures but… sometimes adults just need to get away! An adults-only birthday party can be a great time, but how do you let your friends know not to bring their kids? The most important thing to do is give them plenty of warning up front. "A written invitation makes it clear who`s being asked, but if you`re inviting people verbally, you`ll have to mention that it`s an adults-only evening. And don`t be too hard on yourself. It`s perfectly okay to throw kid-free parties." And if you feel like you may have hurt someone`s feelings, try to arrange a get-together at a different time with them and their children.
