March 29, 2002, Newsletter Issue #56: Parental Supervision

Tip of the Week

Often times, teens donīt want their parents anywhere near their party, especially if thereīs going to be dancing! But, many parents arenīt comfortable leaving teens completely on their own either. Talk honestly to your teen (or parent) about the rules before hand. Tell them your feelings and work out a system that works for both of you. Perhaps the parent agrees not to be in the same room or to stay longer than 30 seconds or so, but the teen agrees that the parent can peek in at random.
